The area

Hukaergaard Bed & Breakfast is scenically situated in the middle of Søhøjlandet on the edge of Østbirk. There are plenty of opportunities for nature experiences in the area, whether you want to take a walk at Ejer Bavnehøj, Yding Skovhøj, Den Genfundne Bro, Sukkertoppen, Himmelbjerget or go fishing in one of the local put and take lakes. There are several golf courses in the area, for example the golf course in Ry.

Fishing opportunities
There are good opportunities for anglers in the area around Østbirk. It is only a few minutes drive to the put and take lakes Lundum Lystfiskersø and Fyel Mose. In the put and take lakes, different types of trout are released, such as rainbow trout, golden trout and brook trout. The trout are easily caught on spinners, small flashes, earthworms or PowerBait. At both put and take lakes, it is possible to rent fishing equipment for a small fee.

Central location
In 10 minutes you can get to and from the E45 motorway. There are entrances and exits at Horsens Nord and Skanderborg Syd. There are shopping opportunities in Østbirk a few minutes drive from Hukaergaard, and the larger cities of Horsens, Silkeborg, Billund (Legoland and Airport) and Århus can all be reached in 40 minutes.
